As a Contact Worker/Disability Support Worker:
This dual role will see you work across our Foster Care team and also our Disability support services. It's a challenging yet rewarding role where you will need to be resilient and understanding of our clients needs. This role offers great self satisfaction once you see the positive impact you are making in our clients lives.
Your responsibilities:
- Assisting our clients to develop key lifestyle skills such as cooking and craft
- Social interaction, engaging with their local community
- Supervising family contact visits for children in Out of Home Care
- Assist individuals working towards their goals
- Maintain routines
- The provision of personal hygiene
- Administration and management of medication.
What you will bring to the role:
- Previous experience supporting people with a disability who have a variety of needs
- Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Disability Services or equivalent experience is desirable
- Current Drivers Licence
- Experience in adult / children challenging behaviours is advantageous
- Be willing to undergo a National Police Check
- Current “Provide First Aid” Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
- Current Working With Children Check is essential
